BD participated in the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN)'s 40th annual congress from 1-4 September 2018. On the second day of the congress, BD hosted a lunchtime symposium. The audience watched real-life testimonials from a patient and a nurse.

Samuel Garcia, BD's MMS Infusion Systems associate director for Europe, introduced the two speakers: Carolyn Wheatley and Krista Murray.

Mrs. Wheatley, who is an executive committee member of a patient association called Patients on Intravenous and Naso-gastric Nutrition Treatment (PINNT), shared her own personal experiences with home parenteral nutrition (HPN).

Then, Ms. Murray, a nutrition clinical nurse specialist at University College London Hospitals, gave us her perspective as a healthcare professional.
